We are receiving reports that fraudsters are making phone calls or sending emails, posing as Town & Country Credit Union employees or our Fraud Department. At times they use a technique called “spoofing,” which allows them to look like they are calling from our phone number (1-800-872-6358). There are two ways to protect yourself from these types of scams:
- Hang up on the caller and call us at 1-800-872-6358. If it were an actual Town & Country employee, we would connect you to whom you were talking to.
- Never give out personal information over the phone, even if you think it might be TCCU.
The only time we will call and ask you to confirm your identity is if you are expecting a call from us - meaning you’ve left us a voicemail or have requested a callback.
