Town & Country Credit Union is donating $50,000 to the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals through Credit Unions for Kids to help launch a new specialized unit within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Sanford Children's Hospital in Fargo.

This new unit will care for micropreemies, which are babies born before 26 weeks and weighing less than 28 ounces. These babies need extensive specialized care, and this unit will provide a dedicated space to support the smallest babies born. It will be the only micropreemie care unit between Iowa and Washington.

“We are proud to support the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and the important work being done by the talented staff at the Sanford Children's Hospital to care for the most vulnerable babies being born,” said Stefanie Rupert, Town & Country Credit Union Interim President/CEO.

Sanford Children’s Hospital serves children across North Dakota and northwest Minnesota. Approximately 14,000 children count on Sanford for specialty care each year. Sanford is North Dakota’s only Children’s Miracle Network hospital partner.

"Due to the generosity of North Dakota Credit Unions and their members, Sanford Children’s Hospital in Fargo can provide essential support to the tiniest babies in our region. The generous donation from Town & Country Credit Union to the micropreemie unit at Sanford Children's Hospital not only saves lives but also brings hope to families across North Dakota," said Hillery Mork, Children's Miracle Network Program Director at Sanford Health Foundation.

Credit Unions across North Dakota have come together to support this effort. Credit unions are the fifth largest corporate partner of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
