In an age where digital security is more important than ever, it's essential to be aware of the tactics used by scammers attempting to access personal information. Recently, there have been reports of fraudulent activity where scammers pose as representatives from Town & Country. By understanding their methods, you can better protect yourself from potential scams.

These scams typically start with the scammer calling members, with the caller ID misleadingly displaying "TCCU" or "Town and Country." This is to gain your trust, making you more likely to divulge confidential information. The impersonator then claims to need to "confirm information" for verification purposes or to resolve a security issue.

The ultimate goal of the scammer is to gain access to the member's TCCU Online account. To do this, they will ask for the member's username and password under the guise of "security verification." After this, they might say that a code has been sent to your email or phone via text, which they then request for "confirmation." By providing them with these three pieces of information, you are giving them access to your online accounts.

Always remember that Town & Country Credit Union prioritizes the security and privacy of its members. Because of this, we want to remind all members of the following security practices:

  • We will never ask for your TCCU Online username or password over the phone, via email, or text.
  • We will never request a verification code sent to your email or phone to be shared over the phone or through any other means.
Always be skeptical of unsolicited calls or messages, even if they appear to come from Town & Country Credit Union. When in doubt, hang up and contact us directly at 1-800-872-6358.

In the event you suspect a scam or fraudulent activity, report it immediately. By staying informed and vigilant, we can work together to ensure the security of our members' information. Learn more about how you can protect yourself from fraud.
