A concerning phishing scam is making the rounds, specifically targeting credit union members. Members receive text messages that appear to come from their credit unions, enticing them with urgent messages and links to websites that look similar to official credit union platforms.

These fraudulent messages often create a sense of urgency, tricking members into clicking on links that direct them to fake websites. At first glance, these sites may seem legitimate, but they are designed to get your personal information, including login information.

Once these scammers access your information, they can make unauthorized transactions and ACH transfers, risking members' hard-earned money.

To protect yourself from these scams, here are some tips:

  • Always double-check the sender's information. If you receive a suspicious text, don't click any links. Instead, contact us directly. Visit your local branch or contact us at 1-800-872-6358 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. For after-hours assistance on disputing fraudulent transactions, call 1-866-605-6183.
  • Be suspicious of messages that create a sense of urgency or pressure you to act quickly. Legitimate institutions will never ask for sensitive information via text or email.
By being aware of potential scams, we can work together to safeguard your finances.
