Is your home being acquired for the Minot flood control project?
Did you live in a home or apartment that was significantly damaged during the 2011 flood?
If you answered yes to either of these questions and you’re looking to purchase a home in the City of Minot, the Resilient Homebuyer Program could be an option for you, and we can help.
Qualified buyers may be eligible for up to $60,000 to help them purchase a home. This assistance is available through the North Dakota Housing Finance Agency (NDHFA) to eligible low and moderate-income (LMI) homebuyers for the purchase of an existing resale home or a newly constructed home in what the City of Minot has qualified as “resilient neighborhoods.” In short, these are neighborhoods outside the new FEMA 100-year flood plain and within the boundaries of the City of Minot. The actual incentive amount each homebuyer receives is based on multiple factors and will be determined during the application process.
Household Size | Income Limit* |
---|---|
1 | $75,050 |
2 | $85,800 |
3 | $96,500 |

To determine if you qualify for this Resilient Homebuyer Program, residents need to contact the Minot Disaster Recovery Office managed by CDM Smith to fill out a homebuyer profile. You can contact their office between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday-Friday by phone at 701-837-5813 or by email at SmallT@cdmsmith.com.
After you fill out the homebuyer profile and CDM Smith determines that you qualify for the program, contact us at 701-420-6737 for an initial meeting. Our trained mortgage lenders will walk you through the Resilient Homebuyer Application, including any required income documentation, and work through the rest of the qualification process.
Anyone looking to take advantage of this program must also complete a NDHFA-approved Homebuyer Education Course which can be found at https://www.ehomeamerica.org/ndhfa.
There are specific qualifications for the types of homes you can purchase with this program such as a purchase price of less than $294,600, meeting HUD Housing Quality Standards (HQS), and meeting energy-efficiency requirements. To help ensure you are looking at homes that qualify, it is recommended that you work with a licensed real estate agent.
Once you have a fully executed Purchase Contract, our lenders will work with the Disaster Recovery Office to complete the process to ensure the home qualifies, finalize your mortgage with NDHFA, determine final incentive amounts and, finally, schedule your closing date!
For more information on the incentive program and the qualifications for participants, visit https://www.ndhfa.org/index.php/homeownership-programs/.

As a member, we are offered many member events out in the community and it's fun to take our daughter and see all the other kiddos. They offer lots of fun things.Kelsey | Member Since 2018
I would highly recommend Town & Country mostly because of the people who work there and the friendships we’ve built, and also being able to trust people and the respect for both sides. They respect me as well as I respect them.Shane | Member Since 1998
The best part about being a member is the friendships that we’ve built with those people who work at Town & Country Credit Union. They’re always there to do the best that they can do to help you out – to get you in a better situation and help you out with everything they can.Shane | Member Since 1998
The process of getting a loan has been absolutely perfect. I have never had any issues. It has always been quick, always been honest, and always been fair. Everybody is so honest about everything and treats everybody so well. For me that is the biggest thing right there – the honor and the respectShane | Member Since 1998
What we value at Swing Barrel is trust and relationships. And we know that we can always call our lender any time to get the answers we need about anything. I would highly recommend Town & Country to any business.Sean | Member Since 2018
When we started our business, Town & Country handled our SBA loan, our checking account and savings account. We are currently in a growth phase at Swing Barrel and we will continue to use Town & Country to help us move forward and help us achieve what we look to achieve. I would highly recommend Town & Country to any business, but particularly small business, who is looking to get started and needs that helping hand to guide them through the process.Sean | Member Since 2018
I would highly recommend sending anyone to Town & Country Credit Union because they are so respectful and helpful. The few friends that I have sent there have called me right away and said, ‘Thank you so much for sending me to Town & Country Credit Union! It is the best.'Shannon | Member Since 2020
The value is amazing. It’s like you’re a member of their family. They don’t ever treat you like your questions are a waste of their time. They’re always very quick and very easy and friendly to work with. Even when I bring my children in they don’t treat them like children who know nothing. They ask – ‘How’s your day? How can I help you today?’ – so my kids are also just as happy to go in.Shannon | Member Since 2020
I chose Town & Country because they are reliable. Town & Country has helped me get a loan for my car and, secondly, to get a loan for my church instruments... It’s always positive anytime I come, so I’m very happy to be with Town & Country.Titus | Member Since 2019
The best part of being a member is they value you. They relate with you like a family to family relationship. Every time I come into Town & Country I feel like I’m entering my own house where I come to meet my family .Titus | Member Since 2019
When I first started my business in 2020, like most shoppers I looked at a lot of different banks and credit unions in town. Town & Country by far was just the easiest from start to end. The process was made simple for meBrandon | Member Since 2020
I would absolutely recommend Town & Country to friends and family. I would tell them about the long-standing credibility and customer service that they’ve provided me over the years. And I would tell them that if they wanted a place that feels like home, that’s where they should go.Carly | Member Since 1986
To me, Town & Country Credit Union is the perfect combination of small town and big city. It has all the amenities to address my financial needs and at the same time they still have that friendly atmosphere that you get from a small community. They’re always willing to help you with any bumps or any questions that you might have. They’re always friendly and welcoming. And most importantly they treat you like a family member instead of another client on their listCarly | Member Since 1986
Going through the mortgage process with Town & Country was excellent. I’m not a numbers person and I can get overwhelmed by a lot of big language and a lot of numbers. Town & Country made the process really easy for me. Every time there were bumps in the road, they helped me through it,Carly | Member Since 1986
I chose TCCU for my mortgage because I’ve had excellent experiences in the past with my home loans and it was a great experience for my refinance as well.Carly | Member Since 1986
As a younger person, I struggled with my credit score like many have. I was able to call employees of Town & Country Credit Union and they helped me through figuring out what debt to pay off first to build that up, and in doing so, I was able to refinance my mortgage in 2021. I lowered my rate and lowered my payment about $400 a month!Kelsey | Member Since 2018
I chose Town & Country Credit Union for my mortgage because as a real estate professional, I realize the importance of using a local lender. With my clients telling me how great the communication was and how they were being notified every step of the way, it was just kind of a no brainer for me.Kelsey | Member Since 2018
I’m a local business owner and Town & Country is where I come for both my business and personal accounts. I have checking and savings here and I just love how convenient it is for me to do both business and personal things through Town & Country Credit Union. They know me by name.Margaret | Member Since 2000
I would recommend Town & Country to friends, family, other farmers, small business people in general. And I would tell them: ‘If you’re not a member here, I have one question for you – why? It’s that simple.Jason | Member Since 2016
The people that represent Town & Country are also small business people. They’re in agriculture. So they have a finger on the pulse of what’s really happening out there. They feel the pinch when agriculture is in a pinch.Jason | Member Since 2016
